New music from Last Dinosaurs!  24 January 2011

Hot on the tail of their Falls and Southbound shows, Last Dinosaurs bring you the follow-up release to debut EP "Back From The Dead". Single Time & Place is the next breezy tune from the Brisbane band, and it brings with it all the bright and tight guitar lines we’ve come to expect from the group, buttoned up into a neat two-track release.

Taken on face value, you could be mistaken to think that this is another love song.  Scratch beneath the surface and you will find an intriguing ode to a genius, Nikola Tesla whose inventions and theories in mechanical engineering were overshadowed by his battle with obsessive compulsive disorder, his abnormally overblown disgust for overweight people and his mania about pigeons.  Time & Place is empathetic of the struggles Nikola would have encountered in the first half of the 20th century, as although his theories were the key building blocks for the second industrial revolution, he was often disregarded as a mad scientist.

No strangers to the festival circuit, Last Dinosaurs had already rallied the crowds at Splendour in the Grass and Laneway festival earlier last year, before seeing out 2010 at Falls and Southbound. Shows with We Are Scientists, Ash and two of their own national tours where also part of Last Dinosaurs’ busy touring plot. In 2011 they already have the Foals national tour on their calendar and it looks like it won’t be long until they hit the road for their own shows again soon.

Mixed by UK producer Eliot James (Kaiser Chiefs, Does It Offend You Yeah?, Two Door Cinema Club) Time & Place is to be released digitally with the relentless Thousands Of Years accompanying on February 4th via Dew Process/UMA.  A rare 7” vinyl will also be available at all Last Dinosaurs shows and good indie retailers only until stocks sell out.
