Last Dinosaurs are offering the first taste of what’s to come when they release their EP “Back From The Dead”. And what better way to do it, than put on a bash in their hometown, Brisbane? Last Dinosaurs will be revealing their debut release at the Old Museum on Friday, 26 February. They have even thrown the doors open to under 18s so no one misses out on the night.
With guest DJ and local support from Comic Sans, in the amazing surrounds of the Old Museum building, this promises to be a warehouse styled gig not to be missed.
The quartet had a pleasantly surprising 2009. Not long after uploading their demo to triple j unearthed, they had Zan Rowe on the phone interviewing them as an Unearthed feature artist. From there they found themselves playing shows with Matt & Kim (NY), Red Riders and Lost Valentinos and being named the highlight gig of Australian music conference Big Sound. They signed to Dew Process in November 2009.
They have since polished up their recordings with the help of producer Jono Ma (of Lost Valentinos) at Byron’s 301 Studios. The result is “Back From the Dead” an EP that captures this youthful group’s rhythmic snarl.
