Outstanding songwriter Sarah Blasko’s ARIA and J Award winning third album, ‘As Day Follows Night’ has reached PLATINUM status. 2009 was a massive year for Blasko, picking up the gong for Best Female Artist at the ARIAs, followed by the J Award for Album of The Year. ‘As Day Follows Night’ debuted at No 5 on the ARIA charts and her national theatre tour was a sold out success.
Sarah ended the year with another short stint in the UK, after a European summer of festivals, having inked a deal with Dramatico Records for the album’s release in the UK and Europe. She has returned to Australia to play Falls Festivals, Southbound, Sunset Sounds and Laneway Festivals throughout summer before donning her winter garb and heading back to Europe indefinitely.
‘As Day Follows Night’ joins both ‘What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have’ and ‘The Overture & the Underscore’ in having reached PLATINUM sales. Dew Process and Universal Music Australia extend their heartfelt congratulations to Sarah Blasko for an amazing year in 2009. Here’s to an even bigger 2010.
