After last week unveiling details of her forthcoming album, Blasko offers title track and first single ‘I Awake’. It’s a striking and soaring introduction to the album, an album that took Blasko back to Stockholm and also to Bulgaria, where she worked with their symphony orchestra. Producing the album herself, Blasko wished to create something that sent the listener tumbling. Single ‘I Awake’ does just that, replete with escalating strings, booming drums and Blasko’s iconic voice.
Now on her fourth album, the indomitable Sarah Blasko consistently shines and has never lost sight of her own vision and path. Her works are all beyond certified platinum status, receiving 14 ARIA Award nominations, two ARIA awards (Best Pop Album and Best Female Artist), triple j’s 2009 J Award for Australian Album of The Year and shortlistings for The Amp, twice.
The album "I Awake" is available now for pre-order and for those who appreciate something a little more precious, Blasko has created something very special; the "I Awake" Super Deluxe Edition. A strictly limited edition of only 500, the hand signed and hand numbered package includes ‘I Awake’ in both CD and vinyl formats. It will also contain expanded album artwork, beautifully printed on high quality paper, presented in a 12" hardcover book and housed in a custom-made slipcase. Every copy also comes with a 7" vinyl of two previously unreleased Sarah Blasko tracks, ‘What Could've Been' and 'Just Like A Memory', exclusive only to this package. Head to www.sarahblasko.com for more information.
Sarah Blasko’s ‘I Awake’ is taken from her album of the same name, out on October the 26th, 2012 via Dew Process / Universal Music Australia.
