Sarah Blasko’s phenomenal third album ‘As Day Follows Night’ has reached GOLD status in little more than three weeks.
With stellar reviews and an engaging debut live performance at Splendour In The Grass recently, it is no wonder that Sarah Blasko fans have flocked to buy the new record.
“An album of the year contender.”
***** Iain Shedden, The Australian, 11th July 2009.
Recorded in Sweden with producer Björn Yttling of Peter, Bjorn and John, ‘As Day Follows Night’ is the result of the many months that Blasko spent tucked up by herself in her makeshift Sydney office writing and demoing. The album was recorded and mixed in less than four weeks at Atlantis and Decibel Studios during a Stockholm winter whilst Australia sweltered in the summer sun.
“Sarah’s music has always had an ethereal quality, and together with Björn she has made what will be one of the most interesting and beautiful Australian albums of 2009.”
**** 1/2 Vijay Khurana, JMag July 2009
“Produced by Björn Yttling of Peter, Björn and John in Stockholm, the irony is that despite the freezing climate it was recorded in, this is as warm as Blasko has ever sounded – immaculate, organic and airy … there’s also a sense of freedom, and a feeling that the listener has been invited in to enjoy Blasko’s brilliance, not just forced to admire it from a distance.”
**** Rolling Stone, July 2009
Sarah Blasko’s previous two albums, ‘The Overture & the Underscore’ and ‘What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have’ both reached PLATINUM status. Blasko also earned an ARIA for best pop release for ‘What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have’ and has seven ARIA nominations, a J Award nomination and the shortlist for the Australian Music Prize to her name.
“It is the kind of album that, even with five months left of 2009, should be a serious contender for album of the year.”
