Airling to support James Vincent McMorrow  12 May 2014

Having recently extended his Australian tour due to overwhelming demand, Irish troubadour James Vincent McMorrow has announced Airling will support his shows nationally.

Airling (aka Hannah Shepherd joined by Brisbane multi-instrumentalist Graham Ritchie) will bring otherworldly vocals, lush electronics and dreamlike beats to the tour, including the recently announced second and final performance at Vivid LIVE 2014 on Saturday 31 May

After wrapping up his current North American tour, which includes a string of sold out shows and a spot on Coachella in April, McMorrow will hit Australian shores once again following the release of his sophomore LP Post Tropical.

Boldly cracking the iTunes Top 5 Chart on release, and snagging triple j’s first Feature Album of the year, McMorrow’s second LP Post Tropical was quickly hailed a “musical masterpiece” (Herald Sun); rendering audiences breathless across his Falls & Southbound performances, and two SOLD OUT headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

“A confronting and delightful experience of music in the dark, attempted with an open mind and an open heart” - THE MUSIC

“After 14 years of regular gig going, I’ve never seen a more responsive audience” - PAGES DIGITAL / GROUPIE

“James Vincent McMorrow’s show is less like a regular concert and more like a spiritual experience.” - TONE DEAF

“Sometimes on very rare occasions an artist is so mesmerising and captivating, that all you can hear

is their performance and nothing else… tonight was one of those nights.” - THE AU REVIEW

Following on from album appetizer Cavalier(#1 on Hype Machine), new single Goldfurther solidifies the unrelenting strength of the songsmith’s sophomore effort. McMorrow has also revealed a new video for album track ‘Red Dust’ - the second of a trilogy of short films by acclaimed director Aoife McArdle (Beck, Jon Hopkins, Anna Calvi)
